Tousled Bob

THE CUT

Bobs don’t all have to look the same. By changing the angle, color placement, or by adding bangs, the entire look can be changed without taking away from the classic shape. This example of on-trend bob works best on medium-to-thick, chin-length hair that is curly or wavy.

Tousled bobs are definitely popular due to the easy maintenance and style. Creating a blunt line at the perimeter allows a strong line to accentuate the cut, giving it definition. The tousled look is created with shatter layers that are either point cut or slide cut to create texture to the interior of the hair. The ends are blunt cut to create a strong, defined shape and the hair is layered throughout to infuse movement and volume.

Bob are very versatile for all facial shapes. The important point to remember is where the front and side hair length will sit. For round face shapes, your stylist will probably recommend that the length to sit below the chin to minimize the roundness. For oblong, the key is to avoid wearing it too long; this will only elongate the face more.

THE STYLING

Spray a dime size amount of DESIGNLINE Weightless Thermal Primer on clean, damp hair, combing through to ends. Blow dry using hands and dryer with a diffuser to define curls and reduce frizz. Once hair is dry, work DESIGNLINE Soft Sculpting Glaze throughout hair to create defined, textured waves.

A SECOND LOOK

Creating a straighter, smoother look is possible with this cut. Add a heat protectant, then flat iron section by section. Once this is done, use a couple of drops of oil to smooth down the hair.
