Modern Classic

THE CUT

If one style can define men’s haircuts, this would definitely be the one. This classic taper cut is the basis for all haircuts, from the trendy undercut to the side-part, it all starts here.

It’s created by point-cutting the top with shears for texture and versatility. The top is left longer for styling versatility, with the sides and back cut closer. By shaving the sides even tighter, it can be disconnected from the top to bring it to the edgier side, or keep it longer to be more classic. It’s truly a men’s classic style from generation to generation.

This cut is an always-looks-good choice for all facial shapes. The density of the hair at the crown area can help determine the shape of the cut, how much length to leave, etc. It works for all hair types as well: fine, medium, coarse, straight, or wavy.

THE STYLING

Apply 2-3 pumps of DESIGNLINE Get Pumped Volume Foam in hands, work throughout towel-dried hair, and blow dry. Apply DESIGNLINE Expandability Style Thickener to dry hair to add texture and promote definition.

A SECOND LOOK

Go from ’60s ad man to modern street style by “disconnecting” this haircut. Have the sides and back cut very short to make this an edgier statement. Or, change the part to give it a new look.
